 During the 19th and early 20th centuries, millions of European immigrants, faced with famine, economic repression and persecution, abandoned their homes in the hope of renewing their lives in the United States , where “the streets were paved with gold”.  This is the poignant and hope filled story of three heroic women, told from their perspectives of three different religious traditions combined with distinct ethnic cultures.

An untimely death in 1875 turned eight youngsters into millionaires and they lived their remarkable lives as the Astor Orphans.  In this continuing saga of the Gilded Age, the Astor story is told under the backdrop of Turn of the Century Long Island and New York.  The setting  is “The Mallows,” the Stony Brook home of Mrs. Alida Emmett, the youngest of the Astor Orphans.  She welcomes guests to hear the story of brother Archie, an eccentric man obsessed with the supernatural. As revealed by his beautiful wife, nationally acclaimed author and playwright, Amelie Rives, this episode is filled with family drama, strange happenings...and murder.
